ROOFINOX Case-Study: Nebelhornbahn

In 1930, the Nebelhornbahn celebrated its maiden voyage and was named the longest aerial passenger railway in the world. To this day, no other mountain railway other mountain railway in the Allgäu climbs over 2,224 metres. The station was also renovated as part of the construction of the new summit restaurant and the North Face Trail around the summit station.

Sustainable restoration

On the one hand through sustainable material with over 95% recycled primary material and on the other hand by utilising the old mountain station and extending it.

The location of the mountain station and the weather conditions associated with the altitude pose particular challenges for the building materials. The ROOFINOX CLASSIC double standing seam façade made of HFX stainless steel optimally withstands wind, rain, temperature fluctuations, snow, ice and sunshine.
